Rare candid photos of Frank Zappa of The Mothers of Invention backstage prior to a February 1968 performance at the Durfee Theater in Fall River, Massachusetts. I took these when backstage access did not require a wristband, all-access pass, or much more than an assertion that you were taking photos. The theater is long gone, and sadly Zappa, too.
Note! These images were shot on film, in limited light, and were “pushed” in the developer to maximize the film's sensitivity. There is a lot of grain in the images, and that grain is most noticeable when printed in large sizes.
